Dr. Daniel Citron is a highly experienced internal medicine practitioner whose Colorado Internal Medicine Center has been in practice in Denver for nearly two decades. His success stems from his compelling philosophy of care: to treat all patients with compassion, dignity and respect while providing them with the highest quality of care.
In addition to serving his patients, Dr. Citron has dedicated his life to serving those in need locally and internationally. During the 1990s, he served as director of the medical ambassador program for SEARAC (Southeast Asia Resource Action Center), a Washington, D.C.-based NGO, where he supervised the settlement of Southeast Asian refugees after the Vietnam War and Cambodian genocide. He also served as medical program director for Doctors without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres) at the Sikhui camp for Indo-Chinese refugees. He was in charge of all services at this large camp, including internal medicine, ob/gyn, minor surgery, pediatrics, immunizations, TB and nutrition support.
Dr. Citron sent an entire cardiology library, monitoring equipment and EKG machines to the Republicas Hospital in Riga, Latvia. And, for five years, he provided free care to Soviet Jewish immigrants who arrived in Denver through a Rose Medical Center settlement program. For three years, he served as a Board member of the Summit Alliance for Global Health, a Denver-based medical NGO.
Dr. Citron graduated with honors from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and graduated Cum Laude from Tulane University as an undergraduate. He completed his internship and residency in medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
Outside of the office, Dr. Citron is dedicated to his two sons and their sports. He and his sons continue the legacy of giving by actively participating in Open Door Youth Gang Alternatives, a Denver organization under the leadership of Reverend Leon Kelly.
